Booking Conditions and Payments
Holiday Costs
All prices featured are cash prices in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of Australian GST.
Deposits/ Final Payments
A minimum deposit of $100 per person is required within 7 days of making any land reservations or a greater amount if requested by the operator. If the deposit is not paid by the due date we will have no option but to treat your booking as cancelled. Final payment must be made no later than 35 days prior to departure, (earlier if requested by the operator), or your booking will be treated as cancelled and appropriate cancellation fees apply.
For credit card transactions a small additional service fee will apply. A 1.4% Credit Card Service Fee will be applied to the amount paid by Mastercard, Visa or Bankcard. A 3% Credit Card Service Fee will be applied to the amount paid by American Express or Diners Card.
Credit card payments are made through Secure Pay, details about how to make your payment are provided at the payment stage of making your booking.
If you are an Australian or NZ travel agent, you can also pay by the Money Direct eft system, details of which are displayed in our booking system or on the “Travel Agents Information page.
Flight Payments
All Virgin Blue flights booked on this website are instant purchase and must be paid in full by credit card at the time of booking. A 1.4% Credit Card Service Fee will be applied to the amount paid by Mastercard, Visa or Bankcard. A 3% Credit Card Service Fee will be applied to the amount paid by American Express or Diners Card.
Once booked, flights are non refundable but changeable at extra cost. Deposit and final payment conditions for land reservations made in conjunction with flight bookings are as above.
Skywest flights cannot currently be confirmed live on line and must be paid within 5 days of confirmation or they will automatically be cancelled from the Skywest system.
Qantas flights cannot currently be confirmed live on line and must be paid within 5 days of confirmation or they will automatically be cancelled from the Qantas system.
Flight bookings can only be made in conjunction with land arrangements, we cannot book flights alone.
Quotes
All quotes are valid for 7 days unless an air fare or a special short term discounted product expires or ceases during the 7 day period, as per the conditions of the airfares or specially discounted short term product. All quotes are subject to the availability of the services contained in the quote and availability is not guaranteed until the booking is made and confirmed.
Documents
Once final payment has been received, Great Aussie Holidays will forward confirmation vouchers and discount voucher offers to the email address that appears in the booking.
Hotel Accommodation / Definitions
Hotel descriptions are based on information supplied by the properties. Any facilities shown are subject to change at any time.
Twin / Double - Cost per person in a twin or double bedded room.
Single room - A supplement is payable where one person solely occupies a room for whatever reason, by choice or circumstance.
Triple room - Cost per person based on three people sharing one room.
Maps and Photographs
Maps are for general information and don't necessarily reflect actual routes, locations or services provided. Hotel room and other photographs shown on this website may not be specific to the actual room occupied or tour undertaken.
Minimum Stay Accommodation Rates
To qualify for discounted minimum stay accommodation rates, bookings must be for consecutive nights at the same property and in the same room type
Child Costs
Child costs where available are shown. With accommodation, most of the child rates are based on sharing a room with two adults and utilising existing bedding. If additional bedding is required a surcharge may apply.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend you insure yourself fully for loss of deposit and cancellation fees, loss of monies or baggage. Click on “Insurance” from the home page to purchase our Covermore Insurance policy.

The star ratings mentioned on this website are provided to Great Aussie Holidays by the hotels and should be used as a guide only. Great Aussie Holidays accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the ratings displayed.
Hire Vehicles
All hire car and motorhome companies booked by Great Aussie have conditions regarding driver's age, bonds and insurance. General conditions are listed below, specific details relating to each company are available when booking your hire car, simply click the info button when making your booking.
Age Limits – minimum age limits do apply. Provisional licences are not accepted.
Premium Location Surcharge/Airport Concession Recovery Fee - Hire car companies with airport desks in Australia charge an additional fee to collect a vehicle at the airport. These fees are based on the total cost of the rental, including incidental charges and excess kilometres. There is no fee for collecting vehicles at hotels or city car rental offices.
Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee – some companies charge a Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee
Collision Damage Cover - most hire rates include Collision Damage Insurance. Refer to vehicle hire information for details of insurance excess and any applicable excess waiver scheme.
Bond - a credit card number is recorded to cover stamp duty and petrol. Cash bonds are not usually accepted.
Unsealed Roads - driving conventional vehicles on unsealed roads voids insurance.
Insurance Conditions - when collecting your vehicle from the hire company please read the details on the contract carefully. Pay particular attention to the exemptions to vehicle insurance cover. Some of the general insurance exemptions are windscreen or tyre damage, accidents whilst driving under the influence of alcohol and / or drugs.
Baby seats/booster seats - must be prebooked at time of reservation and additional costs paid direct to the hire company.
Concessions
Some Australian pensioner concessions are available. The Entitlement to Concession Travel Certificate must be produced when the deposit is paid, or a reduction cannot be given. Children concessions on some tours.
Responsibility
Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd or its accredited agents finalise all arrangements for holiday options on the express condition that it shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delays generally or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel or aircraft, or through the acts or default of any company or person engaged in conveying or accommodation of passengers, or in the carrying out of arrangements of the tours, or otherwise in connection herewith.
Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd is not liable for and denies all responsibility for personal injury caused by circumstances outside its control. Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any operator changing or withdrawing prices, details or services shown; all are subject to alteration without notice. If a particular operator cancels a service, requiring cancellation of the entire holiday itinerary, other operators in the itinerary may levy cancellation fees.
Any transport operators including airlines and coach companies carry no responsibility for statements on this website, and their involvement is as carriers only. Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd shall indemnify them against any claim, action, loss or damage which may be made against them or which they may incur as a result of any misdescription or misleading information contained in the tour literature.
All holidays are subject to availability.
Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd is a wholesaler and in the provision of holidays, acts solely as an agent on behalf of the principals. These principals are the airlines and all land and transport suppliers including the range of hotels, coach companies, airlines, hire car companies, motorhome companies, ferry and boat companies and railways used in the holiday reserved by the client and featured in brochures and flyers produced and distributed by Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd.
As Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd is not a principal and acts solely as an agent between the principal and the third party (client), it is not responsible for monies paid in advance to the principal by Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd on behalf of the third party (client), if the principal is unable to provide that service either by default, insolvency, liquidation, change of ownership or operational difficulties.
QuickSmart Responsibility
Great Aussie Holidays Pty Ltd or QuickSmart Systems Pty Ltd are not responsible
for errors made by users (consumers and travel agents) of the on line QuickSmart booking system.
Any errors or mistakes made by the user in using any area of the QuickSmart on line booking system which create an inconvenience to the travelling client or a financial penalty incurred by a provider of a service (e.g. airline, hotel, coach company, railways, hire car company, motorhome company, cruise company) will be the responsibility of the user who made such error or mistake, and Great Aussie Holidays reserves the right to recoup funds from the user to cover such financial penalties.
Cancellations
If you have to cancel your holiday, for whatever reason, you should contact Great Aussie Holidays or your travel agent as soon as possible. A minimum fee of $20 per person will be levied on all cancellations.
Scale of fees:
More than 40 days prior to departure - $40 per person, or 10% of gross value of the booking, whichever is the lesser amount.
Less than 40 days but more than 7 days prior to departure - $90 per person or 20% of gross value of the booking whichever is the lesser amount.
Less than 8 days prior to departure - $110 per person
These charges are made to cover administration and communication costs. The above charges are in addition to fees which may be levied by accommodation house proprietors, touring and transport operators or airline amendment and cancellation fees. Such fees are payable if sanctioned by the principal.
Amendments / Document Reissue
Any amendments to arrangements already confirmed or reissue of documentation once sent are charged at $25 per amendment/reissue.
Refunds on Services Unutilised
In respect to accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours or other services which are included in the holiday cost but not utilised, a refund will be available less $25 per person handling fee and any other cancellation fees charged by the principle.
